Verity’s Boho Wedding Gown Perth

Verity and Nick planned their wedding for the peak of Summer in Perth, they opted for a relaxed ceremony and reception at the iconic Matilda Bay on the Swan River. We worked with Verity to create a dreamy, boho wedding gown that was made entirely from silk for ultimate comfort whilst also being very luxurious. Verity’s boho wedding gown featured a three tiered silk georgette skirt that moved beautifully and a fine beaded bodice with a low back. We also created a tulle headpiece to complete Verity’s bridal look.

I decided to have my wedding dress made as I wanted something simple, comfortable and just me. I had been to 5 wedding dress shops and didn’t like anything. I had a couple of pictures of dresses that I loved but wanted a combination of two in particular. I googled wedding dress designers in Perth and found Elvi Design, I made an appointment and showed the two pictures to Sandra. She quickly created a sketch which was exactly what I wanted.

We were extremely lucky with all our suppliers as they were all amazing and I would recommend them all! It was an added bonus that all of our suppliers were the first and only meetings we had so it made the search really simple.

Our photographer was Shaun from Shaun Rose Photography, we had one meeting with him at our house where we had an open conversation with him about what we wanted and how we envisaged our day.  Shaun meet with us at Matilda Bay the day before our wedding where he provided so many suggestions and tips. On the day he blended in and our photos are incredible, so many guests said to us they didn’t even notice Shaun taking photos.

Nadia from Chisel and Stem was basically my wedding planner, we started out discussing flower and set up options and it eventuated from there. Nadia listened to everything I wanted and made all of the pictures I had in my head come to life.

Kirk Goodsell was our celebrant, I spoke to Kirk at One Fine Day we spoke for about 5 minutes and again knew he was the celebrant we wanted. We wanted someone who was closer to our age and a bit of fun. Nick and I both completed 20 questions and sent them individually to Kirk, he used our responses to write the ceremony. It was so nice, personal and a little light hearted which was exactly what we wanted.

We had both our ceremony and reception at Matilda Bay Restaurant, the ceremony was meant to be outside under the trees however due to the rain we were required to move it inside last minute. It was just as beautiful as Matilda Bay had floor to ceiling glass windows over looking the water and city. It cleared as we started our ceremony so were able to get all of our photos outside.

We chose Matilda Bay as we wanted our ceremony and reception at the one location as 80% of our guests we travelling from overseas, we also wanted to be relatively central so it wasn’t too difficult for our guests to get to. When we went to visit Matilda Bay we couldn’t go past the view.

Linda’s Long Sleeve Lace Wedding Dress Perth

Linda’s Long Sleeve Lace Wedding Dress Perth

Linda had been to several boutiques hunting for the perfect wedding dress before she found us. Linda is a relaxed lass and knew she wanted a long sleeve lace wedding dress to suit her Summer wedding in the bush down south in Denmark.

Linda travelled from Geraldton for her fittings, we worked with her schedule to make sure she didn’t have to travel more than necessary. Linda’s long sleeve lace wedding dress was made from the finest silk dupion and a super delicate French chantilly lace, it was finished with handmade buttons down the back and a gorgeous lace edge scollop around the hemline and the low v-back.

Craig and Linda wed under the tall trees by the water in Denmark before celebrating the event with their family and friends at the Pepper & Salt Restaurant (one of my favourite wedding venues).

Congratulations Linda & Craig, thanks for sharing your special day with us.

What was the most important thing to you on your wedding day?

It was very important to me to have my late father acknowledged. We were very close and he was missed terribly on the day, however his presence was felt strongly. It was an extremely emotional day for my mum, sisters and I.

Why did you chose to get your gown made? What style did you go for?

I decided to have my gown made after looking through a few bridal stores and finding nothing that was my style. I wanted something that would compliment my body shape and something without jewels or crystals! I also decided I had to have long sleeves! The style I chose was classic/bohemian/elegant with lots of boning through the middle, long lace sleeves and an open V back. Absolutely loved my dress- was prefect for me and I felt comfortable all day.

Where did you get married and why?

We chose to get married in Denmark WA. This place is incredibly special to both of us, I was born and grew up there and Craig’s father is also from Denmark, his family would holiday there every summer. We got engaged in Denmark and knew it would be the perfect spot to have our wedding. The Forrest meets the ocean in Denmark and we were able to have our ceremony amongst the Karri trees while overlooking the Inlet. Our families already knew how amazing Denmark is, so we were extremely proud to be able to show our friends the beautiful scenery and great food & wine Denmark has to offer.
