Emily’s Tea Length Wedding Gown with Lace Sleeves

I have to giggle a little when I think of my first meeting with Emily. She had initially purchased a gown online and yes, it was cheap, but it was awful and nothing like the picture. Heard that story a million times? Me too.

Emily found us at Wedding Upmarket where she saw the lovely Jess in her tea-length wedding dress. Immediately she recognised the need to have her dream wedding gown custom made to suit her own style and most importantly, fit her body shape!

I’m a huge fan of tea length wedding dresses, so I was delighted to create Emily’s tea length wedding gown. The gown featured a fitted hand lace appliqué bodice with 3/4 lace sleeves and a soft tulle skirt with a delicate lace edge detail. It was finished with self covered buttons down the back and a thin waistband with a small bow. We also accessorised Emily’s outfit with a birdcage veil with beaded lace from her gown.

Emily married Jason at St Mary’s in Leederville before heading to their reception at Sandalford Winery in the Swan Valley. They had the clever duo at Still Love capture their special day.

Emily had a lot of fun planning her wedding so I enjoyed hearing her reflections on their big day, hope you do too!

Who was your favourite supplier to work with?

I was really lucky to find lots of lovely people that made the planning process really easy and fun! Our florist Penny from Wild Heart Flowers, our photographers Glenn & Lauren from Still Love Photography and Chiara from Bridal Creations just to name a few. I’m not being biased, but my favourite ‘suppliers’ were Sandra and Birgitta from Elvi Design who were both incredibly patient and kind during the dress making process.

What was the most important thing to you on your wedding day?

That at the end of the day we were married and everyone enjoyed themselves. It didn’t bother me if there were any hiccups or if anything went wrong or if it rained. I just wanted everyone to get to the church safely and have a great time afterwards.

Any special tips on how to plan a wedding?

There are helpful lists you can download that have step-by-step notes of what’s needed to plan a wedding. I found these really helpful especially for reminding me of little things that I may not have considered.

Thanks for sharing Emily!
