Verity’s Boho Wedding Gown Perth

Verity and Nick planned their wedding for the peak of Summer in Perth, they opted for a relaxed ceremony and reception at the iconic Matilda Bay on the Swan River. We worked with Verity to create a dreamy, boho wedding gown that was made entirely from silk for ultimate comfort whilst also being very luxurious. Verity’s boho wedding gown featured a three tiered silk georgette skirt that moved beautifully and a fine beaded bodice with a low back. We also created a tulle headpiece to complete Verity’s bridal look.

I decided to have my wedding dress made as I wanted something simple, comfortable and just me. I had been to 5 wedding dress shops and didn’t like anything. I had a couple of pictures of dresses that I loved but wanted a combination of two in particular. I googled wedding dress designers in Perth and found Elvi Design, I made an appointment and showed the two pictures to Sandra. She quickly created a sketch which was exactly what I wanted.

We were extremely lucky with all our suppliers as they were all amazing and I would recommend them all! It was an added bonus that all of our suppliers were the first and only meetings we had so it made the search really simple.

Our photographer was Shaun from Shaun Rose Photography, we had one meeting with him at our house where we had an open conversation with him about what we wanted and how we envisaged our day.  Shaun meet with us at Matilda Bay the day before our wedding where he provided so many suggestions and tips. On the day he blended in and our photos are incredible, so many guests said to us they didn’t even notice Shaun taking photos.

Nadia from Chisel and Stem was basically my wedding planner, we started out discussing flower and set up options and it eventuated from there. Nadia listened to everything I wanted and made all of the pictures I had in my head come to life.

Kirk Goodsell was our celebrant, I spoke to Kirk at One Fine Day we spoke for about 5 minutes and again knew he was the celebrant we wanted. We wanted someone who was closer to our age and a bit of fun. Nick and I both completed 20 questions and sent them individually to Kirk, he used our responses to write the ceremony. It was so nice, personal and a little light hearted which was exactly what we wanted.

We had both our ceremony and reception at Matilda Bay Restaurant, the ceremony was meant to be outside under the trees however due to the rain we were required to move it inside last minute. It was just as beautiful as Matilda Bay had floor to ceiling glass windows over looking the water and city. It cleared as we started our ceremony so were able to get all of our photos outside.

We chose Matilda Bay as we wanted our ceremony and reception at the one location as 80% of our guests we travelling from overseas, we also wanted to be relatively central so it wasn’t too difficult for our guests to get to. When we went to visit Matilda Bay we couldn’t go past the view.
