Angie’s Couture Wedding Dress Perth

The best kind of referral is most definitely word of mouth and that’s how Angie found me, through fellow Perth hills folk. I met with Angie almost 18 months before her wedding (yes, that early, she was a very organised bride!). She also knew what she wanted from the very beginning – a couture wedding dress – lace, a touch of bling and some drama!

Over a series of fittings we created a beautiful couture wedding dress for Angie. The structured bodice featured hand sewn lace applique, handmade buttons and the most exquisite beaded waistband. The drama most definitely came in the form of Angie’s tulle skirt, layer upon layer of soft tulle. The end result was breathtaking!

Angie accessorised her couture wedding dress with not one but two pairs of shoes (bling for the ceremony, floral wedge for the reception), a beautiful lace edge veil that we also created for her, and a little blue heart that we sewed onto her bodice in memory of her Dad who passed away a few years ago.

Whilst working on Angie’s gown, we discovered that she is a fellow #girlboss and runs Aroona Day Spa in the Perth foothills! We are now loyal ‘Aroona’ clients, and send all of our family and friends to Angie and her wonderful team.

Jules and Angie were married on a warm Spring day at Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley. Their special day was captured by Ben Yew.

How did your wedding dress make you feel?

As a ‘well endowed’ woman, I knew a custom made dress would flatter me the most. I loved the way the lace bodice encased my ‘assets’, and how the beautiful tulle flowed over my figure. I felt absolutely stunning. The lacework, detailed belt and how the lace cascaded into my princess style dress just made me feel like I was perfect. I was comfortable, hell, I would wear that dress every day to work if it was appropriate!
(*NOTE* fancy making us a new uniform Sandra? hehehehe)

What ‘style/theme’ did you choose for your wedding and why?

An ‘Enchanted Forest’ Theme. I love fairy tales, but I was always fascinated by enchanted forests. I love the lush, dark blooms and green moss and how romantic that feels. Anyone who knows me, knows my obsession for flowers so my budget was focused mainly on that! Bridget, from Poppy & Willow Blooms, saw my vision and created an absolute wonderland of dark purple peonies, dark red roses, burgundy ranunculuses, juxtaposed by dark green foliage (one tip is to load up on foliage to create a more ‘rich’ feeling without sky rocketing your budget!)

What was your favourite moment on your big day?

It’s cliche to say but our day flew by, but I felt time stood still when Jules and I had our first dance as man and wife. He looked at me and said “This is it, everything we wanted, everyone we love is here”. And they were. Living and dead (not to sound morbid).

I also managed to do a good twirl in my wedding dress which I have always wanted to do!
