Sam and Nigel travelled back to New Zealand to share a traditional Maori tupunu wedding with their loved ones. They got married at the Ratana Temple at Te Puke Marae, Raetihi in the Ruapehu District on the North Island of New Zealand. This particular area is where Nigel’s ancestors are from and is quite remote so they had to rely on their family and friends to help bring their special day together.
When we met with Sam, she described their wedding to us and was looking for a gown that felt special but would also suit the remote environment. She didn’t want the fuss of a train and she knew that it could be quite chilly and wet. We designed a soft pink tea length wedding gown with sleeves for her. It fit her like a glove! We finished the gown with handmade buttons and a very intricate beaded waistband.

Testimonial from our Elvi Bride //
“It was such a great experience, I enjoyed every fitting and loved how you could understand and design the perfect dress for me and our wedding. From the first appointment I knew I made the right decision to come meet you, it was the most enjoyable and easiest aspect of the whole wedding. Sandra and Birgitta you have an amazing ability to make a dress that compliments the individual and makes one feel confident.”
