Shea’s Lace and Silk Tea Length Wedding Dress

When I first met with Shea early this year it became apparent very quickly that she had her heart set on a vintage inspired tea-length wedding gown with sleeves. She knew she would struggle finding a gown like this off-the-rack so she came to us, having seen that we had created some beautiful tea-lengths gowns and wedding gowns with sleeves.

The reason why finding a gown with sleeves is so difficult is because they need to be made to the individual’s requirements, we even need to allow an extra fitting for sleeves to ensure the perfect fit. They really are a piece of art in themselves.

We created a gorgeous tea-length gown from silk dupion with a half circle skirt and a fitted sweetheart bodice. The skirt featured an overlay of lace with the lace edging delicately placed around the hem. The lace was also appliqued by hand on the bodice, neckline and 3/4 sleeves. The tea-length gown was finished with a vintage inspired jewel encrusted waistband and self covered buttons down the back. We also created the sweet little ‘flyaway’ veil for Shea.

Shea and Stephen were married in June, their service was held at St Michael the Archangel in Leederville followed by a reception at Frasers Restuarant in Kings Park. The theme of their wedding was inspired by the movie ‘Up’, they used the balloons in their wedding photos and as part of their decorations. They also danced a ‘Viennese Waltz’ to the theme song as their first dance. How sweet!

Congratulations Shea and Stephen, it looked like a magical day!
