Oh boy, it’s really hard to narrow down photos when it’s your best friend’s wedding!!! It was the most beautiful day for Tara and Matt, a perfect 30 degree day at Woodbridge House by the river in Guildford. The photos capture the love and excitement of both Tara, Matt and their family and friends as they finally tie the knot. It was such an honour to be a part of their special day and I loved every minute of it!
Now, let’s talk dress… Tara was unsure of what she was after initially, it also didn’t help that she looked good in everything!! So we sat down at my studio one afternoon and went through the day they had planned and what we thought might work best for their relaxed, outdoor wedding. I created a rough sketch of a tea length wedding dress with some kind of sleeve and lace detail. After a series of fittings, Tara ended up with the sweetest wedding frock made from the softest silk georgette skirt with delicate lace edging and a gorgeous bodice made from fine polka dot tulle. The gown was all about detail and was finished with handmade buttons and a belt with a bow. It was only at the very last fitting that Tara decided on her hair accessory, a hand beaded lace piece that we also made.
There are so many highlights from this magical day… but I think I’ll let the photos do the talking… if you’d like to see more photos from their wedding, click here to see their wedding featured on The Wedding Playbook.
A huge thank you to the dream team that helped create the best wedding day for these two, I can personally recommend all of them!!

When I was 12 years old I made a very good choice in best friends. There was no question in my mind that my darling friend Sandra from Elvi Design would be making my wedding dress. I had no idea what I wanted and we may have gone to a few stores to try dresses on before we sat down and she sketched out my dress.
I wanted something tea length to suit our outdoor venue plus I’ve always loved the 1950’s style. The sheer polka dots was all Sandra and its one of my favourite parts of the dress now and adds that playful feel. Having a dress made for you takes a lot of trust as you don’t know how its going to come together until the final weeks. This being said my best friend is incredible at what she does and I can highly recommend it- especially because you get something made just for you!
