I recently caught up with Veronica who married her husband, Russell, last November. They had a traditional ceremony at a chapel in York followed by an open air reception at Faversham House in York. Their memories were captured beautifully by Jimmy and Shona of Izo Photography.
So many favourite moments – watching everything come together on the day was exciting and magical. However my two equally favourite moments were (1) having my father walk me down the aisle and seeing my future husband at the end of the aisle and (2) my wonderful eldest sister whom was my maid of honor surprising us with traditional Papua New Guinean dancers, a very emotional touch for myself & family as its part of our heritage that we hold so close to our hearts. It was a complete wedding having culture tied into our wedding, sharing with family and friends.
Through word of mouth, speaking to a lovely woman at the ‘First Comes Love’ bridal fair who suggested the venue and I immediately went to home to view Faversham house online, it was lovely online – so we made the trek to York and it was instant love at first sight.
Can’t say I had a favorite supplier; I was lucky enough to work with such wonderful and easy to work with suppliers.
A relaxed Bohemian bride and a boho bride I was, however ‘relaxed’ was missing haha
Family and Friends. Sharing such a special day with the ones you love the most, lots of laughs, fantastic music, an abundance of food and flowing of drinks.
A brilliant wedding planner 🙂 Kristy of Flights of Fancy (you can visit her page here).
Planning a wedding I found overwhelming, there was so much out there I didn’t know where to start or when to stop, my original dream wedding plans were lost in the midst of the many beautiful ideas out there.
Sometimes it best to let go and delegate jobs to your bridesmaids or anyone that is willing to help, follow your schedule you set for yourself and trust your help as it all comes together in the end. Enjoy your day and take it all in because it ends all too quickly.
ORGANISATION is definitely the key (I wished I had been more organised).
My dress was a beautiful styled bohemian dress, flowy and whimsical, fitted perfectly with the rustic, boho theme we were going for, it was everything I wanted in a wedding gown. I truly felt like the whimsical boho bride I had envisioned.
A big thank you to Veronica for sharing her special day with us!
