Soraya and Evan planned a relaxed Winter wedding in their home suburb of Kalamunda. They held an intimate ceremony at Stirk Park followed by a backyard reception at their family home.
Soraya had a few ideas in mind when she came to visit me. She was hoping for a whimsical wedding dress that was soft and relaxed with the possibility of lace sleeves. We created a gorgeous boho wedding dress with a skirt of soft, floaty silk georgette and long sleeves made of lace.
Soraya styled her wedding dress with a beautiful flower crown by Oscar & Evie and deep red lip by Milla Makeup.
TESTIMONIAL//
“Elvi dresses really are something else. Sandra takes a bride’s vision and incorporates her own touch of timeless elegance to create something truly spectacular. I hoped for a bohemian style dress with a simplistic romance to it, and Sandra used the finest of fabrics and delicate lace to make exactly that. Her and her mother Birgitta were a joy to work with, professional and highly skilled, yet relaxed and flexible. To the team at Elvi Design, thank you for making me feel so beautiful on my wedding day!” – Soraya, August 2014

I don’t think I’ve had a bride travel as far as Lauren. Over the course of a year, Lauren travelled to Perth from Katherine in the Northern Territory so that she could have the perfect gown for her country wedding. We were able to condense her fittings into a few short days so that she didn’t have to make too many trips. She assures me that it’s normal for NT brides to travel interstate to find a gown!
Lauren and David planned one hell of wedding on the block they were planning to build their home on. There are very few options for weddings in Katherine, so they had their ceremony at David’s parents home before heading over to their block to party the night away. It was a true country wedding with loads of DIY!
Given the heat and the dirt, Lauren knew straight away that she had to have a tea length wedding gown. She was looking for a gown in a vintage style and loved lace! We created a stunning lace tea length gown with a feature lace back.
Lauren has been kind enough to share her favourite moments with us, take a look at her special day!

There were two suppliers that took out first place when it comes to my favorite and they were Elvi Design and Mel Silva our photographer who traveled from Darwin to capture our day. I really enjoyed the process of having my dress made. It was such a relief that after going to the bridal stores and not being able to find the right one after traveling so far, to come to your home set in a beautiful area and to walk through the doors and feel totally comfortable and confident that we could create the perfect dress. I was so happy to meet you both and your friendly personality set me at ease instantly. I went away thinking well was easy and I knew that I would not have any worries at all! Mel our photographer was perfect, not only did she travel all that way but she was fun, had plenty of wonderful ideas and was able to give direction to our family and friends easily to capture our awesome photos. Without both of you involved in our wedding it would certainly not be the same or anywhere near as perfect!
My dress made me feel like a the classic retro bride which is exactly what I wanted. I loved that I was able to create the perfect dress to suit me with your help it really was effortless and easy! The absolutely stunning lace that was available to choose from was just gorgeous and the short style suited our ceremony venue nestled in the bush just perfectly.
Our ceremony was the absolute best part of our day. I loved walking down the isle to my groom surrounded by the beautiful setting we created with all of our friends and family around us. Our ceremony was everything I could have hoped for with a few funny moments thrown in as well. We also both really enjoyed having our photos taken with our closest friends, it was a blast.
How did you find your venue?
Our venue was an easy choice. Our ceremony was held behind David’s parents property and our reception was held on our vacant block in town that we are now building our home on. We loved creating the perfect atmosphere for our wedding from 60 meters of home made bunting, stringing up 1.17klms of fairy lights, making a photo booth out of an old helicopter to creating every centerpiece and decoration that we could possibly think of! The relaxed atmosphere that being at home creates is just the fantastic.
Nerida and Brad married in the south west at Wills Domain in Yallingup, in the South West region of Australia. The scenery is just incredible, think rugged coastline and beautiful forests!
Nerida was looking for an elegant yet comfortable gown with a feature lace back. We created a super soft silk wedding gown with a lace bodice and feature low back.
A few words from our bride Nerida…
“I can’t believe its nearly been a year since I our special day. I loved my dress, one of my first favourite memories of our wedding day was seeing myself in my gown just before leaving for the ceremony. I felt so special and so comfortable in it all day. The Elvi team knew exactly the style I was after and were so professional throughout the process. I will definitely be recommending you guys to future brides.”
