I think for the most part, we’ve forgotten what a styled shoot is about as wedding vendors quickly became obsessed with being featured on the next best wedding blog. When I started my wedding business 8 years ago, Hello May didn’t even exist. Wedding blogs were a relatively new thing and Pinterest was on the verge of discovery. There are in fact so many other benefits to a styled shoot – it’s the time we take to be creative and play with ideas, meet other creatives, create friendships with said creatives and of course, make magic!
The aim behind this styled shoot was to showcase the natural beauty of the Perth Hills using the creative talents of local Perth Hills wedding vendors. We kept the styling to a minimum, opting for simplicity and elegance to compliment the natural environment. We selected a combination of natural white florals, green foliage, natural white fabric, Belgian linen and iron candleholders to set the mood. We found a gorgeous newly engaged couple – Manon & Kobus, who are also local to the Perth Hills, to spend the afternoon with us.
Whilst we had a few ideas of what we wanted to capture, we took an organic approach to the shoot and just let the magic happen between our real life couple and the photographer.
We wanted to encourage Perth couples that you don’t need to look far from the venue to source wedding suppliers. The beauty of working with creatives local to the venue is that they know the area the best. All of the wedding vendors in this shoot have grown up in the Perth Hills, live in the Perth Hills and are active members of the Perth Hills community.

We were so excited to take part of Wedding Upmarket’s annual styled shoot which has been published on bridal blog, Nouba. Featuring some of Perth’s best wedding vendors, this shoot was what wedding dreams are made of ~ incredible styling and colourful blooms that go pop! And the dreamy location of Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club shows off the best of what Perth has to offer.
The mood board for this shoot was very exciting with vibrant colour, bold styling and ornate detail so we decided to opt for a minimal gown with a little bit of bling. Our ‘Lorilee’ gown was the perfect fit, the crepe bias-cut sheath style wedding dress features hand embellished shoulders and an eye-catching low v-back. We worked with the girls from the Pretty Parlour to create a bridal look that complimented the gown and the styled setting. Sasha, our model, had a pop of colour on her lips (to match the bold blooms) and a sleek up-do which worked will with our Lorilee wedding dress.

“Inspired by the old world style bar in which the shoot took place, this stunning inspiration shoot showcases some of Perth’s very talented wedding professionals. Stealing the show is the magnificent bouquet which is reminiscent of a high society wedding in the 1930s with their sprawling cascade bouquets filled with an abundance of flowers. Not to be outdone is the equally stunning vintage inspired bridal gown featuring soft beaded lace over a simple slip style dress.”
One afternoon, we met up with a gorgeous couple at The Stanley in Wembley to create some magic with Anni Maria Photography, Botanical Naturalis and Cat Elizabeth Artistry. Our beaded, vintage inspired ‘Summer’ gown was perfectly off-set by the stunning bouquet with gold accents and the vintage furniture. Click here for more.
On a rainy Winter’s day, we travelled down to Houghton Wines in the Swan Valley to create some magic along with a bunch of talented Perth wedding vendors. I was blown away by the rustic beauty of the venue, so many different options for a Perth wedding. Our ‘Ava’ gown, with it’s moody mushroom base and delicate lace overlay, provided the perfect contract to the bold red roses, lush greenery and rustic styling. The shoot resulted in an array of beautiful images by Pia of Mad Love Nation. Enjoy!

‘Wild romantics’ is an ode to free-spirited lovers with an appreciation of unstructured beauty, free-flowing wine and intimate feasts. On location at Houghtons, in the heart of Perth’s wine region, our styling team set the scene with an abundance of wild roses, dreamy lace, moody lighting and cascading foliage to warm the rustic setting.
Underground in the cellar, surrounded by oak barrels and candle light, a grazing table encourages shared feasting, rambling conversation and intimate connections.

We absolutely love it when we get the opportunity to collaborate with Perth wedding vendors. This beautiful shoot titled ‘Wild Romance’ at The Quarry Farm had it all, it was created on a frosty Winter’s morning in a stunning rural location featuring horses and a beautiful barn. Enjoy these beautiful images by LoveHer Photography.

“The Wild Romance shoot encapsulates femininity contrasted with our beautiful wild terrain. The hills and paddocks of Quarry Farm at dawn created a beautiful mood; with the morning fog creating a softness and purity to the scene.
The “wild” horse tamed by the beautiful bride added to our story. The gorgeously styled reception was set up in the shearing shed which contrasted the sweet themes of creams, soft blush, greenery and touches of rose gold with the raw wood of the old building itself.”

One Autumn afternoon earlier this year we collaborated with a bunch of talented Perth wedding creatives. The relaxed forest inspired shoot featured subtle hints of blue and rustic, bohemian elements. Believe it or not, the shoot took place just metres from the doorstep of our studio in Kalamunda! Isn’t it a magical spot?
We provided our soft, bohemian wedding gowns ‘Jade’ and ‘Soraya’ for the models to wear. The gowns were accessorised with delicate lace edge veils also made by us and flower crowns.

I was super excited when Amanda contacted me to contribute to an upcoming styled shoot. Amanda strung together a great group of Perth wedding vendors to create a laid-back styled shoot in the back streets of Fremantle with a gorgeous real life couple. I have to say that my favourite photos are those with Monique & Toby eating sorbet! How cute are those two?!?
We dressed Monique in our Jade boho gown from our new collection. We finished the look with a long veil with a lace trim and a flower crown by Fox & Rabbit.

Earlier this year, we were super excited to provide a team of talented Perth creatives with our tea-length gown ‘Daphne’. They put together what can only be described as a magnificent ‘Industrial Country Inspiration Shoot’. I just adore the stark contrast between the vintage glam and industrial styling. I think I’ll let the images do the talking…
