When my sister got engaged, there was no question what she’d do for a wedding dress, we had it sorted! Ashleigh always knew she wanted an a-line dress and some wow factor, she left the rest up to us.
Ideally, I like to start with selecting the lace and that’s exactly what we did. We found the most exquisite piece of beaded French lace in an antique colour. This then set the tone for the rest of the gown. We selected a soft latte tulle to compliment the ornate bodice. The end result was stunning, her wedding dress was just right for her personality, style and wedding!
Ashleigh and Jono were married at Woodloes Chapel in Cannington before heading to Chapel Farm in the Swan Valley for their reception. They chose a Winter wedding knowing that neither of them liked the heat. The style for their wedding was rustic and romantic with subtle hints of purple.
Ashleigh is a qualified roof carpenter so she embraced the rustic DIY style and made lots of furniture and decorations for her wedding (she even made those pallet tables, crazy!). Ashleigh also worked with some of Perth’s best wedding suppliers to bring her dream wedding day to life. She had Jess from The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist and Creator style the entire day which made things so much easier and completely stress free. Our exceptional bouquets and button holes in the prettiest purples were created by Jane from Ivy Flowers. We also had Em from Milla Makeup do the makeup for the bridal party. Em made us feel at ease and we had a lot of fun getting ready. The whole day was covered by Christine Lim, who captured every moment perfectly.

Kate came to us chasing a long sleeve wedding dress as they are difficult to find off-the-rack. There are a number of reasons why but the main reason is, every bride’s arms are different making it tricky to create a generic ‘one size fits all’ sleeve. We even have to allow an extra fitting for sleeves to ensure we get the right fit and we’ve created A LOT of long sleeve wedding dresses! The plus side of having a custom made wedding gown is that you can have those tricky, hard-to-find designs made to suit your individual shape and that’s exactly what we did for Kate.
We designed a slimline satin skirt with a strapless bodice that featured an illusion lace neckline and long lace sleeves. Kate’s gown was finished with a puddle train and handmade buttons. Kate accessorised her gown with a gorgeous jewel encrusted crown and a veil.
Kate and her now husband Ben got married at Lamonts Bishops House, a romantic inner city venue. Their photos in the gardens surrounding and under the stars are truly beautiful! Kate even made her own floral arrangements and bouquets. What a clever bride!

It is hard to choose one moment but, signing the marriage certificate was up there. All of the formal part of the ceremony was done and I could stop being so nervous about saying my vows and appreciate Ben and take the moment in.
Stick to your guns. Everyone has ideas of what they have wanted their wedding to be like- even before they are engaged. Write down what it is that you and your partner want from the start so that you can remain focused. Whilst its great to toss around ideas with friends and family everybody has a different opinion and it can make some decisions more stressful.
Ben found the venue online. We had driven past it so many times without even realising it was there. We went to so many but we always liked to idea of long tables and an outside reception so Lamonts Bishops House was perfect!
I was so excited when local business owner Nicci made contact with me to create her custom made wedding dress. Nicci and Alex decided to get married at the peak of Summer in the orchard on their private property in Pickering Brook, so we had to create a gown that would withstand both the heat and the outdoor environment!
We created a soft tulle and lace wedding gown in dark ivory for Nicci. We opted for a silk base and silk lining to ensure it was as comfortable as possible in the heat. When it came to accessories, Nicci teamed her custom made wedding dress with a pair of white sequin converse, the perfect shoe for an orchard wedding!! We also made Nicci a veil for the ceremony.
Nicci and Alex had legendary stylist Jess of The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist and Creator create their dream ceremony and reception venue in their own backyard. With a host of my favourite West Aussie vendors they created a truly, beautiful evening for their guests. I think I’ll let the photos do the talking…

Oh boy, I just love it when a bride decides to go for colour! Mary selected the softest pink silk dupion for her tea length wedding dress and it looked stunning. Mary had a tulle overlay which she wore for the ceremony before taking it off to party the night away in her tea length wedding dress.
Mary and Ken exchanged vows in Venice, it was a really good compromise between their home in Perth and their family in Ireland. They had their ceremony in the city and strolled around Venice with their photographer before hopping on a boat for the beautiful island of Torcello where they held an intimate reception for their guests. Talk about romantic!!
I think Mary just oozes happiness and their photographer has captured their day perfectly. Now let’s transport ourselves to Italy in these photos by Luca (Photographer Venice).
