I remember meeting Sheree at the Vintage Bride Fair in Perth early last year. She knew she didn’t want a traditional wedding dress and had her eye on our tea length wedding dress designs. When she visited our studio, she selected our vintage inspired ‘Evie’ tea length wedding dress design which features a beautiful illusion lace neckline and a silk dupion skirt with a lace overlay.
Sheree and Tim got married at Moore & Moore Cafe in Fremantle, “we chose the venue as we already loved the cafe and knew the food there was excellent, also because the rustic art gallery and cafe space perfectly suited the style of our wedding.”
Sheree selected a bunch of wonderful Perth vendors to bring her vision to life, “we met our photographer Peggy at the Wedding Upmarket and Elvi at the Vintage Bride Wedding Fair. My stylist I found via Instagram and our wedding celebrant was recommended by a friend. I found out that once you’ve chosen a couple of suppliers, they can usually point you in the direction of other good suppliers that have a similar style.” She also did a lot of DIY for her special day. She created the floral arrangements and being a talented baker, she baked all the sweets for the dessert table!
Testimonial // “Going to traditional wedding gown shops and trying on dresses was not my idea of fun and I worried that finding a dress I actually liked and would be comfortable wearing would be an impossible mission. Luckily my Mum and I came across the Elvi ladies at the vintage wedding fair. I loved every single dress of theirs but ended up going for a tea length silk and lace dress. I loved the process of getting it made especially for me and the fact that I have a beautiful vintage dress that I can keep and pass onto my daughter one day.”
From the very beginning, Jess knew she wanted to wear her family heirloom pearls. She brought them along to her first meeting with us and we used them in the design process to select the lace, colour and style of her wedding dress with sleeves. Jess was looking for a romantic gown with a subtle vintage touch, the end result was a beautiful soft, silk wedding dress with lace sleeves in a cream colour. We also made a finger tip veil with a delicate lace edge to compliment her gown, the veil was finished with a small, flat bow on the comb.
Jess and Chris decided to travel with their family and friends to Waiheke Island, just off Auckland in New Zealand, to get married at a beautiful vineyard. To say this wedding was beautiful would be an understatement. The couple exchanged vows under a beautiful big tree and held their reception under the stars. You can see that they put a lot of love and thought into their special day.
Congratulations Jess & Chris, thanks for sharing your special day with us!
Holly and Dzenan planned a beautiful ceremony (with a magnificent view!) at Bishops Rd Reserve Dalkeith before heading to Indiana’s Teahouse in Cottesloe, where they had previously held their engagement party.
Holly envisioned a luxurious French lace wedding dress that would fit her body perfectly. As inspiration, we used Dzenan’s favourite dress, the dress Holly wore when they first met. We worked closely with Holly to create the design. Holly’s French lace wedding dress featured an illusion mesh bodice with hours of lace applique work, the keyhole back featured handmade fabric buttons all the way down her back. The skirt was beautifully edged with lace and had a beautiful train.
Holly’s favourite moment of the day was their first dance. Dzenan surprised Holly by organising one of their dear friends, Dean, to sing Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. The dance floor erupted with Bosnian dancing and festivities continued into the night.
Funnily enough, I first met Holly in year one at primary school so it was such a lovely surprise when she contacted me to create her wedding gown. It’s really nice when you happen to cross paths with old school friends in this industry and they choose to support your business. Thanks Holly for sharing your beautiful day with us.
“Sandra and her team were amazing, I can’t thank them enough. I had many compliments on the fine details of my gown, I was very happy with the end result”
