“Inspired by the old world style bar in which the shoot took place, this stunning inspiration shoot showcases some of Perth’s very talented wedding professionals. Stealing the show is the magnificent bouquet which is reminiscent of a high society wedding in the 1930s with their sprawling cascade bouquets filled with an abundance of flowers. Not to be outdone is the equally stunning vintage inspired bridal gown featuring soft beaded lace over a simple slip style dress.”
One afternoon, we met up with a gorgeous couple at The Stanley in Wembley to create some magic with Anni Maria Photography, Botanical Naturalis and Cat Elizabeth Artistry. Our beaded, vintage inspired ‘Summer’ gown was perfectly off-set by the stunning bouquet with gold accents and the vintage furniture. Click here for more.
This wedding is an absolute cracker! Amy and Cam planned a relaxed wedding at Silversprings Cottages in Margaret River complete with a first look, love notes, bush adventures and the groom serenading his wife before they hit the dance floor.
Amy enlisted our help to create a relaxed wedding dress that suited her figure but was similar to the number her Mum wore on her wedding day. We created a fitted silk bodice with a soft lace overlay and then, going with the relaxed vibe, we went for a couple of layers of soft tulle over the skirt with a soft tulle bow. The end result was very feminine yet unfussy which was just perfect for our reluctant bride.
I could not be more grateful that I chose Sandra and Birgitta of Elvi Design to create my wedding dress. They are extremely talented professionals who are perfectionists in every dress they bring to life. But for me, what I appreciated above all of that was their patience, kindness and genuine advice throughout the process. I was not the girl who dreamt of her wedding dress and had no clue what I liked (very little) but only that I wanted it simple and ‘like my mother’s’. That seemed to be enough for Sandra to go on and together we slowly pieced it together. I truly loved my dress, felt like myself in it and most importantly I felt beautiful. So thank you so very much,
Your reluctant bride,
Amy xxx

A Perth hills wedding always pulls on my heart strings!! From the moment I met Asha, I knew she was going to be a joy to work with. She was planning a backyard wedding just around the corner from our studio. Asha wanted a wedding dress that felt comfortable and feminine, not heavy and restrictive like the gowns she had previously tried on. I suggested a luxurious silk skirt with a soft silk georgette overlay, we then created a handmade lace bodice which was the perfect feminine touch. The beauty of silk is that is super easy to wear and will fare well on a warm day (Asha’s wedding day ended up being a scorcher!).
Asha & Jacob wed at a bushland reserve before heading back to their home to party the night away. Alan McDonald was there to capture their special day and Signature Floral Design provided the incredible blooms.
Thank you for creating me the perfect wedding dress – it was really was more than I could ever have dreamed of. You ladies are amazing and I’m so grateful for the time and effort you put into every detail! ~ Asha, Nov 2016
Bhreagh is a vibrant ball of energy so it was no surprise that she needed a wedding dress she could skip down the aisle in! When we met with Bhreagh she was drawn to our tea-length designs, we sketched up a sweet festival wedding dress with a polka dot bodice and a tulle skirt. Over a few months, Bhreagh and her Mum visited our studio for fittings. At her final fitting, we all agreed that this dress was definitely ‘Bhreagh’. Bhreagh accessorised her frock with bright blue shoes and a lace headpiece (also made by us).
Bhreagh and Hammy planned a festival inspired wedding with lots of colour, lawn games, party lights, food trucks and great music for their guests. They hosted the wedding at Lost Lake Winery in Pemberton, they chose the south-west region as Hammy has a farm in the area.
I’m sure you’ll agree this wedding looks super fun and that these two look like they had the best day!

I still giggle when I think about my first meeting with Georgia, she had a very strong idea of what she wanted and we worked together to come up with the perfect beach wedding dress for her Bunker Bay wedding.
Georgia was adamant she didn’t want the typical, long wedding dress and was lusting after a short bohemian design that she knew she would be comfy in. We went through many samples of lace before finding a gorgeous boho design that we altered to suit her short beach wedding dress. Georgia accessorised her wedding dress with an ocean inspired headpiece and bare feet!
Georgia and Michelle exchanged vows in a low key ceremony in front of their nearest and dearest on the beach in Bunker Bay. The day could not have been more perfect for these two!

It is such an honour to be sharing this gorgeous wedding, Nikki has such talent in the kitchen (she is the lady behind Nik Naks Sweetest Treats), so it is no surprise that she crafted the most incredible wedding for her family and friends. I have never seen a wedding with so many desserts and handcrafted details.
We are so thrilled that Nikki selected us to create her dream couture wedding dress which had to be a masterpiece to rival all those pretty cakes! Nikki was looking for drama, so we designed a couture wedding dress with a plunging neckline, lace back and oodles of romantic tulle. We used 10m of lace scollop along her enormous tulle train, the end result was epic!
Nikki & Glen wed at Meneghello Estate in the Margaret River region. The venue provided a stunning backdrop with vineyards and sweeping fields in the distance. I am in awe of the effort these two went to create their special day. Glen custom built furniture especially for the event and Nikki (along with baking all the desserts) styled the entire event.

Oh boy, you know a wedding is going to be good when the bride has hired Perth’s best wedding suppliers to put together the most incredible breakfast wedding! Yup, you heard it right, breakfast wedding! Sabrina and Tom wanted to do things differently from the get-go, they selected the scenic Perth hills for their ceremony and reception before spending the afternoon in the Lancelin sand dunes to capture some incredible wedding portraits. This is where having a breakfast wedding really worked to their advantage, they were able to make the most of every minute of their wedding day!
Sabrina opted for a romantic full skirt with an overlay of floaty silk organza and a soft lace v-neck bodice with lace sleeves. Her dress was the perfect contrast to the stunning flowers she wore in her hair and bouquet.

On a stunning Spring day last year, Lauren and Andrew wed at Barrett Lane in the Swan Valley. Lauren’s prerequisite for her handmade wedding dress was it had to be soft and romantic yet dramatic. We created a bodice with delicate hand lace applique and a floaty silk skirt that formed a long train. We also made a bird cage veil to compliment her handmade wedding dress. Lauren was a delight to have in the studio, she trusted our team and the process entirely, the end result was stunning!
As you can see through their photos, Lauren and Duncan went the extra mile to ensure their guests had a great time. They hired lawn games, encouraged their guests to get on the d-floor by offering a swing class and then wow-ed their guests with a choreographed first dance!!
I had been looking at a few dresses at some shops and none of them seemed to be right. Once I started following Elvi Designs on facebook and instagram, I knew I wanted one of their dresses. The only criteria I had was that the skirt had to have Drama! There had to be drama about it and I had to be able to dance as we had been preparing a choreographed number that involved a couple of lifts. During the ceremony, I had this beautiful train that floated around me and when it came time to kick off the heels at the reception, the skirt folded up and was out of the way ~ Lauren, November 2016

Seeing the final product and wearing the dress was an indescribable feeling. The skirt was soft, delicate and floated in the breeze. It was everything I had hoped for. Even months later after wearing the dress, I still remember the feel of my gorgeous skirt floating around my legs.
The most important thing to me on our wedding day was to have our family and closest friends together having a wonderful celebration. Most of them participated in the dancing lessons, the games area was a big hit and the chocolate station was annihilated.

With a love of the 1950’s, Sarah wanted a retro wedding dress because not only did it suit her personal style but also the theme of their wedding. Sarah also loved pastel colours and knew she wanted a hint of colour in her wedding dress. We designed and created a retro wedding dress which featured an ornate lace overlay and a soft blush pink coloured silk dupion base. The end result was just stunning and perfectly suited to their Spring wedding.
Sarah & Lloyd had their ceremony by the Swan River in Perth and their reception at The Raffles. The streets of Applecross provided a super fun backdrop for their bridal portraits, these two lovebirds even managed a quick snack with their bridal party at the local McDonald’s!
“I always knew what style I wanted for my wedding gown, so when I came across the gown from Elvi Design, I knew it was the right fit for me. Even thinking about it now, after our day, there is nothing I would have changed about the dress. I love the tea length and the silhouette is reminiscent of my favourite fashion decades of the 40’s and 50’s. Having this dress made by hand around me was amazing. It was all so delicate and beautifully made, I wished the experience could have lasted longer!”

I was beyond excited when Jess’s enquiry landed in my inbox. Jess is the mastermind behind local Perth hills cafes, Jack & Jill and the Haynes St Larder, droves of keen breakfast eaters travel up to the Perth hills every week to taste her delights. The menu is incredible and I know many of my brides have visited Jack & Jill enroute to their Elvi Design fitting.
Jess believes in sourcing locally produced goods for her cafe so it was only fitting that she apply the same mantra to her own wedding. Jess and Scott got married at a private property in the Perth Hills and sourced local suppliers to bring their vision to life.
When we met with Jess, she was looking for a long-sleeve wedding gown that featured a few unusual details. She was chasing an alternative lace, sleeves with volume at the shoulder, a high neck and no buttons but a discreet closure. We helped Jess with these design details and sourced a stunning lace that featured a beautiful leaf pattern, the lace was complimented by a soft bone coloured base.
“I really felt beautiful on the day. I absolutely loved my dress so much. And people are always commenting on how different and gorgeous it is :)”
